Meet our Race Director

Meet our Race Director

Organising an event as big and complex as The WILD is a major undertaking, requiring literally thousands of hours of work. It is made all the tougher when it’s an inaugural event and the courses include some pretty remote, wild country. So it was critical that we (The Wild For Nature Trust) found the right person to spearhead this gargantuan task. And I’m pleased to say we hit the jackpot. Meet our RD, Nicole Fairweather.

Nicole has worked in the NZ events industry for 15+ years, mostly in the sporting sector. Her recent roles include Race Director of the Queenstown International Marathon and senior roles on GODZONE, Motatapu and The Pioneer. She’s a details gal, ensuring all the elements are in place for a safe and enjoyable experience for the athletes, volunteers, and the event team. She loves getting into the hills herself and has taken part in many ultra-marathons and wild adventures. As she remarked recently “you can’t beat spending hours in the Arrowtown backcountry. It’s pure delight”.

We have been working with Nicole since the start of the year, steadily ticking off on the seemingly endless To Do list and with each week that passes our belief that we have a gem of a Race Director grows ever stronger. Just another reason why The WILD is going to be an epic experience for all that are involved. Thanks Nicole.
