An Evening with iRunFar

An Evening with iRunFar

Life has a habit of throwing curve balls at us all and being an ultra-running legend is no guarantee of immunity. Nevertheless, it is with huge sadness and regret that we share the news that Courtney Dauwalter and her husband Kevin can no longer make it out to The WILD this December. Courtney had this to say when she broke the news to us by email just a few days ago:

“Kevin and I were really looking forward to coming to New Zealand to explore some incredible trails and celebrate the end of the year with all of you. Unfortunately, our plans have had to change a bit and we are no longer able to make it. Have a great weekend and good luck to all the runners! We will see you on the trails soon!”

We know you’ll be as a disappointed as we are with that news, particularly if you hold a ticket for ‘An evening with Courtney’ on the Wednesday of race week. This event would have seen Courtney & Kevin on stage to do a live Q&A with the audience, followed by a great selection of trail movies that we have put together. We still plan to screen the movies and are very fortunate to have Bryon Powell & Meghan Hicks, the founders of iRunFar, on stage to do the Q&A session. In case you've been hiding under a rock for the last 14 years, iRunFar was founded in 2009 and has been providing awesome coverage of all things trail and ultra around the world ever since. Bryon also penned the book, Relentless Forward Progress: A Guide to Running Ultramarathons, and co-authored Where the Road Ends: A Guide to Trail Running with Meghan.

What this amazing couple don’t know about the sport we all love isn’t worth knowing, so we can expect a lively, informative and inspiring Q&A session. Thank you Bryon and Meghan for stepping in to the rather intimidatingly huge shoes that we have asked you to fill. It's going to be an epic evening still.
